November: Lawns

It's time to put our lawns to bed for the year

Now that we've done all our hard work through out the fall, it's time to wrap up our work for the year with an eye towards the next. One last fertilizing recommended, preferably a high-nitrogen fertilizer like Betty's Ultimate. Since it is recommended to feed your lawn at one and a half times the recommended rate, now is a great time to clean out leftover fertilizer in your garage. Due to a trick of nature, all nitrogen put down after October 22nd goes straight to root growth. This means that fertilizer put down in November helps our lawns stay healthy in the long hot summer.

Now is also the best tim to apply Gallery broadleaf weed preventer in lawns and beds to prevent broadleaf weeds for nine+ months. No reapplication in the spring is necessary
