This project,
installed in Arlington, Virginia, involved grading, stone retaining
walls, a stone terrace, a brick walkway and extensive plantings.
Description
Photo
This
stately walkway, constructed of brick, on a concrete bed, with
mortared joints, leads to the front entrance of the home.
At
the back of the house, an iron fence surrounding the pool area
provides security without detracting from the landscape. Carefully
planned beds incorporate specimen plant material, maintaining
privacy but still providing an uncluttered and spacious feeling.
The
side yard was extensively graded. A fieldstone retaining wall
was installed to provide a focal point and a level planting
area.
The
access to the pool area is highlighted by a complementary iron
gate. Formal plantings, including boxwood, grasses, and perennials
enhance the structure of the iron gate and arbor columns.
